Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert psychiatric care, conduct comprehensive patient assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans to promote mental wellness. Your expertise will support a diverse patient population in an outpatient setting. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and diagnostic assessments using EMR/EHR systems Prescribe medications in accordance with DEA regulations and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacologic treatments. Manage acute and chronic mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. Provide psychotherapy services utilizing evidence-based approaches tailored to individual patient needs. Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, case managers, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient support. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication management, and wellness strategies. Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA standards. Qualifications Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). New Grads Welcome. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations across outpatient, inpatient, or telehealth settings. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and experience with telehealth platforms is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and management of complex medication regimens. Familiarity with behavioral health assessment tools and diagnostic coding systems such as ICD-10. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating excellent client communication skills. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in specialized settings such as assisted living or memory care is a plus.
