Job Description

Integrative Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) 1099 Independent Contractor | Remote/Telehealth | Massachusetts About Pura Vida Psychiatry Pura Vida Psychiatry is an integrative psychiatric practice grounded in the understanding that healing occurs through the relationship between mind, body, nervous system, and lived experience. Our work blends evidence-based psychiatric care with a relational, trauma-informed, and somatically aware approach that honors the complexity of human experience. We believe meaningful healing extends beyond symptom reduction and often involves deeper processes of self-understanding, emotional integration, nervous system regulation, and reconnection to self. We value presence, attunement, curiosity, and collaborative care. Our approach prioritizes depth over volume and seeks to create space for thoughtful, personalized psychiatric treatment that is both clinically grounded and deeply human. As the practice continues to grow, we are committed to building a clinical environment that supports both patient healing and practitioner sustainability. About the Role Pura Vida Psychiatry is seeking a compassionate, thoughtful, and dependable Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing practice as a 1099 independent contractor . This position is ideal for a clinician who values thoughtful psychiatric treatment, collaborative care, and meaningful therapeutic connection. While medication management is an important part of the work, our approach extends beyond symptom management alone and may incorporate emotional processing, nervous system awareness, supportive psychotherapy, and whole-person care into ongoing treatment. The position is fully remote via telehealth and part-time to start , with the opportunity to gradually develop a consistent caseload. We are particularly seeking a provider with evening and/or weekend availability to help expand access outside traditional daytime hours. Current credentialing with Headway in Massachusetts is strongly preferred , as this would allow for substantially faster onboarding and patient scheduling. Candidates who are not currently credentialed with Headway may still be considered if they are otherwise a strong fit and are willing and eligible to complete the necessary credentialing process. Position Details 1099 independent contractor position $100 per clinical hour Fully remote telehealth practice Part-time to start with opportunity for caseload growth Evening availability strongly preferred Hour-long sessions with integrated documentation time built into the workflow Administrative support for scheduling and other non-clinical needs Collaborative onboarding and ongoing practice support Depth-oriented model rather than high-volume psychiatric care Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a board-certified PMHNP who is currently licensed to practice independently in Massachusetts or eligible and willing to obtain Massachusetts licensure . We are looking for someone who is comfortable providing psychiatric assessment and medication management while also appreciating the relational and experiential dimensions of mental health care. Formal training in integrative psychiatry, somatic modalities, trauma-informed care, psychotherapy, or holistic medicine is welcomed but not required. Genuine curiosity, openness, clinical thoughtfulness, and alignment with the philosophy of the practice are highly valued. Just as importantly, we are seeking someone who is dependable, communicative, and able to follow through independently . Credentialing, onboarding, scheduling, and continuity of patient care require timely collaboration. The right clinician will respond consistently to communication; complete required administrative and credentialing steps promptly; communicate proactively when questions or obstacles arise; and take ownership of the responsibilities associated with independent practice. This role may be an especially good fit for a clinician who is: Licensed as a PMHNP in Massachusetts or eligible and willing to obtain Massachusetts licensure Already credentialed with Headway in Massachusetts, strongly preferred Available for consistent evening clinical hours Comfortable providing medication management and psychotherapy-informed care Drawn to integrative, trauma-informed, somatic, or relational approaches to healing Emotionally present, reflective, and comfortable sitting with complexity Reliable, responsive, and self-directed Seeking collaborative practice rather than isolated telehealth work Interested in contributing to the continued development of an evolving integrative clinical model Practice Culture Pura Vida Psychiatry is intentionally building a practice culture centered on presence, authenticity, clinical depth, and sustainable care; both for patients and providers. This is not a high-volume production model. We value meaningful patient relationships; thoughtful treatment planning; clinical autonomy within a collaborative environment; and creating space for clinicians to continue developing their own voice and style. We are looking for a provider who resonates with this vision and wants to participate in shaping a grounded, human-centered approach to integrative psychiatric care. To Apply Please submit a CV or resume along with a brief introduction describing your clinical background; Massachusetts licensure status; Headway credentialing status; general availability, including evening availability; and what draws you to working within an integrative psychiatric practice.
