Urgent Care Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our urgent care team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team. The NP/PA will assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages, ensuring comprehensive care for acute and chronic conditions. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses. Administer medications and treatments as needed. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans. Document patient encounters accurately in EMR/EHR systems. Provide health education and counseling to patients and families. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality. Stay current with medical best practices, including knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience in urgent care or similar settings.
Preferred qualifications include:
Critical care experience or hospital medicine background. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, or Cerner. Experience in pediatrics, geriatrics, or family planning is highly desirable. Knowledge of behavioral health, pain management, or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus. Proficiency in medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation, and medical documentation. Experience administering injections and performing basic life support. We encourage applicants with diverse backgrounds including those experienced in outpatient care, telehealth services, home care, or specialized fields such as gastroenterology or infectious disease care. Candidates should be committed to providing compassionate care while demonstrating strong clinical skills across various medical disciplines.
