Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines, ensuring safe medication administration and monitoring. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately, maintain medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on mental health conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to promote recovery and resilience. Collaborate closely with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate holistic patient care. Participate in telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services for underserved populations and support continuity of care. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Demonstrated experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings, including outpatient clinics or inpatient units. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, diagnostic evaluation tools (such as ICD-10 coding), and clinical research methodologies. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Athena for documentation and patient management. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform physical examinations when necessary, including vital signs assessment and basic life support procedures. Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services efficiently and securely.
