Nights Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health Macomb Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative Critical Care team in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This position offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive inpatient care to critically ill patients, serving as a first-line provider responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination in collaboration with patients, families, intensivists, physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team. The Advanced Practice Provider will also perform procedures consistent with credentialing, training, and experience. A minimum of one year of Critical Care (ICU) experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is required. Qualifications:
1 year of critical care experience as an APP required NP or PA graduate from an accredited program Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
Credentials:
Education & Training Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) Licensure Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).
Certification PA:
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
NP:
National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP) Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) - required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire) DEA /
Controlled Substance Licensure PA:
DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
NP:
DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
