Job Description

Description This on-site, contract opportunity is ideal for an Associate-level clinician looking to make a meaningful impact in cardiovascular patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment. As a Locum NP/PA in Cardiology, you will play a vital role in supporting our team by evaluating patients, assisting in diagnostic procedures, and helping to develop effective treatment plans. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical practice setting. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments and patient histories. Assist in the diagnosis and management of cardiology patients under physician supervision. Order and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate for cardiovascular care. Develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Provide patient and family education on heart health, medications, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic health records. Assist with outpatient and inpatient cardiology procedures and follow-up care. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Support the daily operations of the cardiology practice in an on-site setting. Requirements Active certification and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA). Associate-level clinical experience in a medical practice, hospital, or similar healthcare setting. Experience or strong interest in cardiology or cardiovascular patient care. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and family interactions. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize care in a dynamic environment. Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Willingness to work on a contract basis with an on-site schedule in Asheville. Knowledge of medical practice regulations, confidentiality requirements, and clinical best practices.
Schedule:
12-hour day or night shifts
Duties:
Rounding, daily progress notes, admissions, new consults, discharges, ordering medications and tests Mostly step-down and cardiology unit patients
EMR:
Cerner Must be board-certified DEA required Paid travel & expenses
