ASAP We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an ongoing Urgent Care assignment in Salisbury, North Carolina. The provider must already live in Salisbury or the immediate surrounding area. This position is not eligible for travel or lodging reimbursement. Limited mileage reimbursement may be available for up to 60 total round-trip miles. The selected provider must be comfortable working independently as the sole provider in a busy Urgent Care center and treating patients of all ages, including pediatric patients six months and older. Position Highlights $115 per hour Ongoing locum tenens assignment No call responsibilities Local providers only Average patient volume of approximately 45 patients per day Volume may reach up to 60 patients per day Adult and pediatric patients Epic electronic medical record Supervising physician provided off-site when required Support from a Center Manager, Medical Assistant, and Patient Service Associate Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and pediatric Urgent Care patients Independently manage the center as the sole on-site provider Treat patients six months of age and older Perform laceration repairs, ear irrigation, and other minor procedures Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic Communicate effectively with patients and support staff Deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment Maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout each shift Required Qualifications Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license Active North Carolina DEA registration Current BLS certification Current board certification Minimum of 12 months of post-graduate clinical experience Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients Ability to treat pediatric patients six months and older Experience working in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Acute Care, Hospital Medicine, or a related setting Ability to independently manage a high-volume patient schedule Proficiency using Epic Strong interpersonal and patient-service skills New graduates will not be considered. Preferred Qualifications Previous Urgent Care experience DOT certification PALS certification ACLS certification Experience working as a sole provider Experience managing 40 or more patients per day Training and Credentialing All candidates must successfully complete a clinical screening and interview before moving forward. The selected provider must complete all required credentialing, Epic training, onboarding, and clinical preparation before working independently. Mandatory training sessions are held on designated Wednesdays. Providers must be available to participate in the required Wednesday training. Candidates who cannot attend the required training will not be considered. The estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 20 days after all required documents have been received.
