Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic adolescent counseling program as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in a flexible hybrid role, working 4 to 8 hours per week. Our current location is in Pompton Plains and we are opening a new location in Livingston soon. This exciting opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on the mental health and SUD treatment of adolescents by providing expert psychiatric care in a supportive, innovative environment. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health services, utilizing your advanced clinical skills and passion for youth care. Embrace the flexibility of this role while contributing to a vital community service that promotes resilience and recovery among young individuals. Our programs align with the school year. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adolescent patients. Prescribe and manage medications, including psychotropics, following HIPAA and DEA regulations. Provide telehealth consultations, ensuring seamless patient care across virtual platforms. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including therapists, primary care providers, and case managers, to coordinate holistic patient care. Document all clinical encounters accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication administration. Participate in case management activities to support ongoing patient recovery and monitor treatment progress. Skills Proven experience working with adolescents in behavioral health or psychiatric settings. Strong knowledge of mental health diagnosis using ICD-10 coding standards and familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes. Proficiency with EHR/EHR systems such as KIPU for medical documentation and patient records management. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, medication management, and clinical evaluations. Skilled in telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services effectively. Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychotropic medications and experience prescribing within collaborative practice agreements. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on engaging youth and their families compassionately and effectively.
