Job Description
Behavioral Health | Addiction Medicine NP Role Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations, including medical assessments at admission and follow-up visits. Evaluate and manage primary care needs, including acute concerns and chronic medical conditions. Develop and update individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and coordinate follow-up care. Prescribe and manage medications within the practitioner's authorized scope of practice. Collaborate with medical, nursing, and behavioral health professionals to coordinate patient care. Identify medical concerns requiring additional evaluation, specialty referral, or a higher level of care. Educate patients about medical conditions, medications, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with appropriate national board certification. Current New Mexico Nurse Practitioner licensure, or eligibility to obtain required licensure before starting. Clinical experience providing primary care as a Nurse Practitioner. Demonstrated experience independently completing comprehensive histories and physical examinations. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care to patients receiving behavioral health or substance use treatment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or substance use treatment. Familiarity with medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Experience caring for patients with co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
