Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dermatology team as a Dermatology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional skin care and treatment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will collaborate with dermatologists and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive assessments, perform procedures, and enhance patient outcomes through innovative skin health solutions. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and vital signs documentation using EMR systems such as Athena Manage patient triage for urgent skin concerns and coordinate follow-up care, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards. Educate patients on skin health, treatment options, and post-procedure care while providing health coaching tailored to individual needs. Document clinical findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems) and utilize CPT coding for billing purposes. Support clinical research initiatives related to dermatology treatments and participate in data collection for quality improvement projects. Collaborate with hospital teams on inpatient consultations for complex skin conditions requiring acute care or ICU experience. Requirements Valid certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current state licensure in good standing. Demonstrated experience with dermatology procedures such as dermal fillers, Botox (botulinum toxin treatment), suturing, and esthetic laser treatments. Proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques specific to dermatology. Experience working within hospital or outpatient settings with exposure to hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics. Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential. Ability to perform physical examinations, patient assessment, intake procedures, and vital signs measurement efficiently. Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for billing and documentation accuracy. Skills in medical records management, data collection, and clinical trials participation are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
