We are looking for a part time and/or full time licensed Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to diagnose and treat health conditions as well as promoting good health practices. The individual, in this role, would be responsible for providing quality primary care services in a rural health setting. Patience, problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication skills are key.

Responsibilities include:

Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health; diagnose and propose treatments Order diagnostic tests, and bloodwork. Lab draws available on site Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment and adjust treatment if necessary Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribe and dispense medications Document medical information into electronic health record Educate, instruct, and counsel patients on presenting health problems treatment plans, home care and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians, specialists, and ancillary providers such as physical therapy, etc. Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects Oversee patients' overall health Have experience working in a rural health clinic Promote good health practices Show flexibility in treating sick patients (walk ins) and chronic care management patients Provide urgent care services such as suturing minor lacerations, etc.

Qualifications:

Current, full, active, and unrestricted NP or PA license in State of Texas Must have the necessary specialty certification 2-4 years of clinical work experience in a primary care setting - managing a schedule Must be compassionate, personable, and have ability to work with different age groups Possess strong analytical, critical thinking skills, exceptional communication skills and self-confidence Exceptional active listening skills
