Advance Practice Nurse Prescriber. Provide evaluations, diagnostic assessments and prescriptions for medications, as appropriate, to treat adults with psychiatric, behavioral and/or mental health conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides mental health evaluations and assessments of clients needed to determine diagnosis and to make recommendations for treatment.
• Prescribes medications needed to help alleviate mental health and substance use concerns.
• Perform clinical responsibilities including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication monitoring, consultations, patient history documentation, health education, and referrals to additional services as needed.
• Offer guidance on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment and care interventions.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical records and documentation.
• Promote health education, patient empowerment, and support for self-care management.
• Engage in clinical audits, supervision, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Work collaboratively to define shared values, strategies, and policies that influence care delivery.
• Actively contribute to identifying and implementing improvements in patient care.
• Ensure all patient interactions, treatments, and consultations are properly documented in the electronic health record.
• Complete all required healthcare and registration documentation promptly and accurately.
• Adhere to national and local prescribing protocols, safeguarding policies, and professional standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Current License as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber
• Hold Current License as a registered nurse under ch. 441, Stats.,
• Hold a master's degree in mental health nursing from a graduate school of nursing from an approved college or university.
• Advanced Practice Nurse prescriber shall be Adult Psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, family psychiatrist and mental health practitioner or clinical specialist in adult psychiatrist
• National Board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse by American Nurses Credentialing Center
• Completed 1500 hours of supervised clinical experience in a mental health environment
• Completed 650 hours of supervised prescribing experience with clients with mental illnesses
• Ability to apply relevant theoretical principles of advance psychiatrist or mental health nursing practice
• Qualified to treat persons, under the supervision of a psychiatrist, with mental health orsubstance abuse issues.
• Experience with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the range of needs of individuals in the community.
• Knowledge of physical, cognitive, and mental health impairments, related medical conditions, medications, and medication side effects.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
• Demonstrated proficiency using a laptop and navigating through a variety of Microsoft programs with the ability to learn Agency computer software.

MHH CCS staff will complete 40 hours of documented training for those who have had less than six months of experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services or 20 hours of documented orientation training for each staff member who has six months or more experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation. 2. (2) Each staff member will receive one time a month or 120 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation services or service facilitation they provide. MHH CCS staff will meet with qualified staff to meet program supervision requirements. 6.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee may experience or must do to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: 1. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 2. Regular hours are Monday- Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, however this will require some flexibility outside of these hours. 3. Must be able to communicate with service recipients, providers and staff in an effective manner via the telephone, in person, and electronically.
