Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and safeguarding medical records Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments in memory or dementia care units Assist with patient transfers and mobility using safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care during overnight shifts Experience Prior experience working as a CNA or in a similar patient care role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or assisted living communities Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS) certification Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable Familiarity with specialized care areas including ICU, emergency medicine, hospice care, pediatric units (PICU), or post-acute settings is a plus Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or memory care Strong caregiving communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers
