Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting healthcare providers with tasks like specimen collection or basic treatments. Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, especially those with dementia or in memory care units, fostering a caring environment. Follow aseptic techniques and safe lifting practices when moving or repositioning patients using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling methods. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings like long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or home care environments to ensure comprehensive patient care. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; active state licensure required. Demonstrated experience working with geriatric populations or individuals with disabilities, including dementia or Alzheimer's care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures such as CPR. Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow infection control protocols diligently. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and collaborate with healthcare teams. Prior experience in settings such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, hospice care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
