Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures. Document admission, discharge and transfer of residents. Listen to resident and family complaints and report them to Charge Nurse. Control angry feelings. Answer call lights. Give morning care to all residents assigned. Serve breakfast trays and assist with feeders. Remove trays. Pull up side rails and roll beds down. Change incontinent residents. Walk ambulatory residents. Take ambulatory residents to bathroom every two hours and as requested. Make sure all residents are offered nourishment at 10:00a.m. and 2:00p.m. Complete tub baths, showers or bed baths. Report anything unusual about residents to Charge Nurse. Turn and reposition all bed and chair residents every two hours. Place bedpans, linen, washbasins and soiled linen in proper area. Take residents to dining room and assist in feeding, if assigned. Complete food percentage, intake and output, and bowel and bladder records. Check name bands on all assigned residents daily and report to Charge Nurse any bands that have been removed or need to be changed. Empty and record all urinary drainage units. Complete charting or nurses notes on all assigned residents. Be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision. Other duties as assigned. Employees are required to have an up to date tuberculosis test and physical upon hire and yearly thereafter. Education and/or
Experience:
CNA or RNA with active license/certification in the State of California . Active CPR certification.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, residents, family members, employees, and the general public. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand fluent English.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and balance of physical equilibrium to prevent falling of self, others or of objects being carried. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
