Position Overview:
Glenwood Springs Health Care is currently seeking experienced, talented, and compassionate full-time Restorative Aide to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are energetic, motivated, and committed to providing exceptional care. As a RA, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and wellness of our residents while ensuring they receive top-notch care.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer restorative activities specific to resident needs Administer Restorative Dining Program Assists patients with exercise (Active Range of Motion/Passive Range of Motion) to improve or maintain mobility and independence in the resident Documents care on Rehabilitation/Restorative flow sheet Perform general strengthening exercises Provides residents with routine restorative care and services in accordance with the residents' assessment, care plan and as established by physical or occupational therapist Assist residents with dressing/undressing as necessary Assist residents with personal grooming (i.e., combing, brushing, shampooing, etc.) Monitors, assists in and document results of residents' activities of daily living programs such as dressing, feeding and personal hygiene; maintain restorative therapy notes in residents' record Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc Help residents to perform tasks for him/herself as appropriate as assigned in resident's plan of care Document per treatment activity and summarize progress for each resident in the RNP Observe body alignment of all residents in bed, chairs and wheelchairs, especially those using various positioning devices or contracture padding and perform adjustments/corrections, as necessary Encourage eye-hand coordination by assisting residents to participate in restorative feeding program Notify RNPC, Charge Nurse or appropriate therapy discipline of problems, referrals and reassessment needs Monitor wheelchair-bound residents to ensure proper use, positioning and fit of leg extenders and footrests Follow appropriate safety, hygiene and infection control measures Ensure adequate restorative supplies to meet the needs of the residents in the RNP Maintain consistent resident care schedule and be efficient in use of time Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent pressure injuries Coordinate restorative treatments with other facility departments Monitors use and condition of adaptive equipment (walkers, gait trainers, crutches) and assistive devices. Arranges for repair or replacement of equipment as needed Assists in maintaining therapy area and equipment in clean, safe, functional condition
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state. Prior experience in long-term care or healthcare setting preferred, but not required. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills and a passion for providing compassionate care. A positive attitude and strong work ethic with a desire to make a meaningful impact. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, bending, and lifting.
