Job Description

Make a difference in a patient's surgical experience from start to finish. Join our fast-paced ambulatory surgery team where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. As a Peri-Operative Assistant, you'll support patients throughout their surgical journey while assisting nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia providers in a collaborative and rewarding environment. The Peri-Operative Assistant provides direct patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while assisting with various peri-operative and surgical support functions. This position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and positive experience for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities include patient admissions, transport, discharge support, sterile setup, instrument processing, chart preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized surgical environment. Additional duties may include assisting with medical records, supporting anesthesia and nursing staff, and providing departmental support as needed. Key Responsibilities Assist with patient admissions, transport, and discharge activities. Support patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Prepare and maintain patient charts and surgical documentation. Safely transport patients to and from the operating room. Review pre-operative and post-operative instructions with patients. Assist with operating room setup and turnover. Process and sterilize surgical instruments. Support anesthesia and nursing staff during procedures as directed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment. Restock supplies and prepare treatment areas for upcoming cases. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and infection prevention practices. Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant training. COA or COT certification. Previous healthcare or surgical experience. Interest in outpatient surgery and peri-operative care. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of hands. Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment. Ability to work in a clinical environment with direct patient interaction throughout the day Pre-Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check
