And for residents living with dementia, the transition from afternoon to evening can sometimes bring additional confusion, anxiety, or restlessness. That's why the caregiver walking through the door at 3:00 p.m. matters. At Nagel Assisted Living in Waconia, we're looking for Evening Caregivers who can help make those final hours of the day feel comfortable, familiar, and safe . You're helping residents transition through an important part of their routine. That might mean helping someone enjoy dinner, getting them changed and comfortable, assisting with personal care, reassuring a resident who's confused about where they are, or taking a few extra minutes to help someone settle in before bed. For residents with dementia, your patience, tone, consistency, and approach can make an enormous difference . The goal isn't just to get everyone through the evening. It's to help residents feel cared for throughout it. What You'll Do As an Evening Caregiver, you'll: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, and mobility Support residents during dinner, evening activities, and bedtime routines Provide care in both Assisted Living and Memory Care Encourage residents to maintain as much independence as possible Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support Help residents living with dementia navigate evening routines Observe changes in resident condition and communicate concerns to nursing staff Follow individualized care plans Work closely with caregivers, nurses, and community leadership Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment Bring Your Caregiving Experience With You Your experience might be as a CNA, HHA, DSP, PCA, Resident Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Caregiver .
