Coordinates and maintains a fair distribution of resident care on the unit, by revision of care lists of residents, revision of baths lists, hair care lists, feeding schedules and seating placements. Coordinates and facilitates communication between shifts to promote harmony of all staff. Assists with the orientation of new personnel. Provides assistance and advice as appropriate regarding care of all residents on the unit. Monitors and assures that nurse aide care-plans are appropriate to the residents' needs, that they are followed and updated quarterly or as condition warrants. Works with all unit nursing staff to fulfill our mission to provide for the physical, mental, spiritual and recreational needs of our residents - maximizing self care and independence. Monitors unit for adherence to cleaning and/or maintenance protocol. Assists in determining staffing needs for the unit, assists in scheduling preparation and is available to help fill staffing shortages when possible. Assists the DON in updating peers as to current policies, procedures and CNA practices. Assures new admissions are made comfortable on the unit and that admission paperwork is completed, clothing is marked, etc. Assures that ADL sheets are correct and completed, that appropriate initials or signatures are present, and after signatures' are obtained, filed in the appropriate place. Evaluates and assesses those residents that require bowel and bladder training to promote continence and makes sure the proper documentation sheets are present. Puts residents' weights in the weight book, updates walking lists, etc. Is willing to participate in quality assurance practices. Willingly provides input to help solve problems in order to promote quality of care for residents. Gives input during equipment/supply evaluations in order for the facility to make wise purchase decisions. Must effectively and efficiently divide time as defined above between CNA Team Lead role and CNA floor shifts. Must be effective and efficient in maintaining appropriate working hours to stay within staffing hours as defined by DON and SHS. Performs all other CNA duties as defined in the LTC CNA Job Description. Perform duties as defined in the LTC CNA Job Description on all lists and all shifts for the purpose of evaluating all lists and shifts for any necessary changes based on resident load or resident needs. Certified Nurse's Aide in the state of North Dakota with no abuse charges recorded.
Experience Required:
