Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Full-Time or Part-Time 2nd Shift CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) working from 3 PM to 11 PM in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity are maintained at all times. Your energetic and attentive approach will support residents' daily needs while fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic setting that values teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safe and comfortable mobility assistance. Observe residents for changes in condition or behavior related to dementia care, Alzheimer's disease, or other health issues; report findings promptly to nursing staff. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and caregivers to deliver comprehensive patient service tailored to individual needs across geriatrics, behavioral health, or patients with developmental disabilities. Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities; familiarity with medical-surgical procedures is a plus. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to patient care. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) including CPR; experience with emergency medicine or ICU settings is advantageous. Skilled in patient transfer methods and safe lifting practices; experience with heavy lifting required at times. Excellent caregiver communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs. Familiarity with hospice care, infectious disease care, trauma center protocols (Level I & II), pediatric (PICU), or post-acute care environments enhances your candidacy.
