Position Summary:

A private household in Northern Virginia is seeking a warm, reliable team for a domestic partner position. The primary role is for a female Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or experienced caregiver to assist the female principal with daily activities, personal care, and physical therapy. The second role provides a guaranteed 20 hours per week handling routine lawn care and gardening, indoor/outdoor handyman repairs, domestic chores (cooking, laundry, light cleaning), and serving as a backup for physical transfers when needed. Candidates can choose between commuting (live-out) or living on-site in a private basement suite with room and board provided. Role 1: Primary Caregiver (Female CNA / Experienced PCA)

Responsibilities:

Assist client with daily personal care, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide mobility, physical therapy support, and daily transfer assistance (getting into and out of bed morning and evening). Drive client safely in her wheelchair-accessible minivan to medical appointments, therapy, and social outings. Run errands, including grocery shopping and pickups. Prepare and serve nutritious meals. Maintain a clean and organized living environment, including client laundry and light cleaning.

Requirements:

Virginia CNA license preferred (experienced PCA/caregivers with verified transfer skills welcome). Physically capable of assisting a 130-lb client with standing, pivot transfers, and walking. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (comfortable driving a minivan). Fluent in English. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Role 2: Handyman, Grounds & Household Support (Guaranteed 20 Hours/Week)

Responsibilities:

Routine Home Maintenance:

Handle basic indoor and outdoor handyman repairs, minor fixture fixes, filter replacements, and touch-up painting.

Lawn Care & Gardening:

Perform regular lawn mowing, edging, weeding, trimming bushes, seasonal cleanups (leaves/debris), and basic garden care.

Shared Domestic Chores:

Assist with everyday household duties, including cooking/meal prep, laundry, and light cleaning.

Physical Assistance:

Provide backup physical support to assist the caregiver with occasional heavy transfers, client repositioning, or mobility needs.

Heavy Lifting & Errands:

Assist with heavy lifting, moving items, property upkeep, and local errands or vehicle care as requested.

Requirements:

Practical experience in routine handyman/home repairs. Comfortable operating standard lawn and garden equipment (e.g., mower, trimmer, blower). Willingness and positive attitude toward assisting with everyday household tasks (cooking, laundry, cleaning). Strong physical fitness capable of safely providing transfer and heavy lifting support. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Fluent in English and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Accommodations, Compensation & Benefits:

Housing (if Live-In selected): Private basement living quarters with a private bedroom and private bathroom. Access to the main kitchen for meal prep.

Food/Groceries:

All meals and groceries provided by the family when eating the shared family menu/groceries.

Guaranteed Hours:

Minimum 20 hours/week guaranteed for the secondary partner. Paid comprehensive training at $30.00/hour. Paid vacation after 6 months of continuous employment. Dedicated free parking on property.
