We are currently seeking an experienced DDD Group Home Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our residential group home in Chandler, Arizona. This is not an entry-level management position. We are looking for someone who already has experience working within Arizona's Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) system and understands the responsibilities involved in successfully operating a DDD residential group home. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, proactive, compassionate, and confident in leading a team. This individual should be able to step into the position with minimal training and independently manage the daily needs of the home, members, and staff. Position Summary The Group Home Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall day-to-day operation of the home, supervising and supporting Direct Care Workers, coordinating member care, maintaining appropriate staffing coverage, monitoring required documentation, and ensuring services are provided in accordance with each member's Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP), agency policies, and applicable DDD requirements. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Group Home Manager must be comfortable providing direct care when necessary and responding effectively to staffing concerns, member needs, emergencies, and other situations that may arise within a 24-hour residential program. The Group Home Manager is expected to be available on-call 24/7 for urgent matters involving the home and must be willing and able to assist with staffing coverage when emergency coverage cannot otherwise be secured. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the group home and maintain a safe, clean, organized, and supportive residential environment. Supervise, support, coach, and provide ongoing direction to Direct Care Workers. Coordinate staff schedules and ensure appropriate staffing coverage and required member-to-staff ratios are maintained. Respond to staff call-outs and staffing emergencies and provide direct coverage when necessary. Remain available on-call 24/7 for urgent matters involving members, staff, or home operations. Monitor staff attendance, performance, professionalism, documentation, and completion of assigned responsibilities. Assist with orientation and on-the-job training of new Direct Care Workers. Ensure staff understand and follow each member's Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP), Behavior Treatment Plan (BTP), medical protocols, dietary requirements, and other individualized plans. Review daily documentation, progress notes, medication records, and other required records for accuracy and completion. Oversee medication administration practices and ensure medication procedures and documentation are followed appropriately. Coordinate and track medical, dental, behavioral health, and other appointments. Monitor members for changes in health, behavior, or overall well-being and ensure concerns are addressed and reported promptly. Recognize and appropriately respond to incidents and ensure agency management is notified promptly so required reporting procedures can be followed. Communicate professionally with agency management, guardians, DDD Support Coordinators, healthcare providers, DTA programs, schools, therapists, and other members of the individual's support team as appropriate. Participate in member planning meetings, staff meetings, training, and other required meetings. Ensure member rights, privacy, dignity, choice, and independence are respected at all times. Promote meaningful activities, community involvement, skill development, and independence for members. Oversee household responsibilities, including grocery shopping, meal planning, household supplies, cleanliness, and general organization of the home. Ensure the home remains adequately stocked with necessary food, household, personal care, and member supplies. Provide hands-on direct care and assist with staffing coverage when necessary. Maintain compliance with Arizona DDD requirements, agency policies, licensing requirements, and applicable state regulations. Maintain timely and professional communication with agency management regarding staffing, member care, incidents, and overall home operations. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an Arizona DDD residential group home setting. Working knowledge of Arizona DDD residential services, requirements, and expectations. Familiarity with PCSPs, BTPs, member rights, incident reporting, medication documentation, staffing ratios, and residential documentation requirements. Previous Group Home Manager, Assistant Manager, Lead Direct Care Worker, Residential Supervisor, or similar leadership experience is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Arizona driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to meet agency driving requirements. Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Current required DDD certifications or ability to meet applicable certification requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively supervise staff and professionally address attendance, performance, and workplace concerns. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and confidential member information. Ability to respond appropriately and independently during emergencies. Dependable attendance and flexibility to meet the needs of a 24-hour residential program. Must be available on-call 24/7 and willing to provide emergency staffing coverage when necessary. Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced DDD professional who understands what it takes to successfully operate a residential group home and can step into the position with minimal training. The ideal candidate takes ownership of the home and leads by example. They are dependable, organized, proactive, compassionate, and comfortable making day-to-day decisions. They should be able to effectively manage staff, maintain required documentation, communicate with members of the support team, address concerns promptly, and ensure the home remains safe, properly staffed, organized, and compliant. This position is best suited for someone who understands that successful group home management requires both strong leadership and a willingness to step in and support the team when needed.
