The Commons in Lincoln is looking for a full time Activities/Program Director for our Assisted Living community. The Activities/Program Director provides leadership in the Programming Department and organizes and implements activities designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. The resident program is intended to fulfill basic psychological, intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs while promoting self-esteem in a caring, nurturing environment. The Activities/Program Director reports to the Associate Executive Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care and supervises the Concierge team. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Takes the lead in the development and implementation of an innovative daily activity plan for residents Produces a quality monthly newsletter and calendar and daily activity calendar Leads and supervises the implementation of one-on-ones, small group and large group activities according to the programming schedule Initiates and maintains vendor relationships, including scheduling, execution and administration of quality programming Leads hiring, payroll processing, and scheduling for a small concierge team Establishes and maintains collaborative associate relationships Supports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups Facilitates Resident and Family interactions via video chats or in-person visits, as health & safety procedures allow Supervises coordination of Holiday and Birthday Celebrations Demonstrates knowledge about residents in regard to background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity and attention span capability
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues. Must be qualified by experience and training to develop programs appropriate for elders and disabled individuals. Proficiency in computer applications, including MicroSoft Office Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic knowledge of social media Prior experience managing a small team preferred Training and knowledge in recreational activities a plus Training and knowledge of Alzheimer's and related dementias a plus Experience providing transportation for community residents a plus Think senior living sounds boring?
