Job Description

Assistant Living Director Employment Type:
Full-Time, Salaried Schedule:

The Assistant Living Director supports residents' well-being, dignity, independence, and happiness while helping ensure they receive compassionate, high-quality care. In this role, you will support the Resident Care Director (RCD) in overseeing the Resident Services department and maintaining the overall quality of resident care. In the RCD's absence, you will supervise the Assisted Living care team, assess department needs, delegate responsibilities, and help ensure smooth daily operations.
Salary ranges:
with CNA Certification $55K to $65K, with LPN license $65K to $73K Key Responsibilities Resident Care and Support Promote resident dignity by respecting and encouraging each resident's independence, privacy, confidentiality, and personal choices. Assist residents as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort services, and other activities of daily living. Support resident engagement by helping team members escort residents to activities. Monitor Assisted Living residents during shift changes. Coordinate new resident welcomes, including signage and schedules. Maintain resident records, including resident lists and photo spreadsheets, EHR. Team Leadership and Staffing Supervise and mentor the Assisted Living care team, including analyzing needs and delegating tasks when the RCD is unavailable. Review timesheets to confirm attendance, meal breaks, and accurate time punches, making corrections when necessary. Track attendance and tardiness, complete appropriate disciplinary documentation, and submit it to the RCD for review with the team member. Monitor overtime and staffing expenses, making adjustments as needed. Lead recruitment activities and participate in selecting qualified candidates in partnership with the Business Office Director and Resident Care Director. Support onboarding and training, including ongoing team member competency evaluations. Track employee evaluations, required training, and professional license expiration dates. Administration and Compliance Support care conference scheduling in partnership with the RCD. Maintain electronic documentation compliance using HER/EMR systems and assist department leaders with company documentation standards. Manage department supplies by collecting supply sheets, ordering items, and ensuring expenses are charged to the correct department or resident. Complete inventory documentation and submit resident charge forms to the Business Office Director. Provide other coverage as needed Model a positive culture and values in every interaction. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; CNA or LPN certification is highly preferred and a different salary range is attached to each. At least two years of related work experience. Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and mentor teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software. Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Schedule flexibility appropriate for a salaried leadership position.
