Independent Living Coordinator:

Corliss is seeking an experienced DSP to be responsible for providing individual support and coordinating a support program for members who live individually in Warren. The applicant will become familiar with the clients' needs and will come to understand the relationship between independent clientele and Corliss. This position will (1) provide a range of direct support services to clients in their homes and will also (2) coordinate the scheduling of other DSP's to be sure all independent clients receive the level of support necessary.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants for this position should be creative, a problem-solver, and a self-starter. Candidates should be flexible as they will not only provide some direct support but will also organize evening and/or weekend activities for members living in their homes. These activities may include group dinners, game nights, movie outings and other social events. The coordinator should have a personal vehicle and be able to drive clients on local errands.

Responsibilities:

This position will be similar in level and responsibilities to an Assistant Group Home Manager. The coordinator will determine a regular support schedule for each client and assign staff to each client/activity. When necessary, the coordinator will interview and participate in making the hiring decision along with administrative staff. While the clients' schedules will be consistent from week to week, it should also be flexible enought to accommodate special events, chosen or planned by the coordinator.

Time:

Initially, the position will involve approximately 25 hours per week, with the time split between providing direct services to the clients and coordinating the program by training other DSP's and determining supports and time required per client. Time requirements may expand as the program grows.
