Thursday, September 17, 2026, or until filled "AT 12:00 NOON" Professional Nursing (LPN-RN Bridge) Adjunct Instructor at Big Bend Technical College This individual must possess current clinical expertise in the area he/she is assigned and provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace.
Description:
This position is responsible for supervising the nursing students in the clinical environment. This position is also responsible for evaluating the clinical performance of the student and grading all clinical assignments. This is a part-time, hourly position.
The Adjunct Instructor shall:
1. Provide students clinical instruction in (their) designated clinical specialty; 2. Orient to the assigned clinical facility and to Big Bend Technical College; 3. Attend a BBTC orientation session; 4. Keep current evidence of licensure and education on file with BBTC; 5. Maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); 6. Attend Health Science Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) and BBTC Faculty meetings as required by the Director; 7. Keep adequate records of grades, attendance, clinical performance, and anecdotal notes, and submit as necessary to the BBTC Student Services Director (Grades to the Data Technician); 8. Submit a monthly time sheet on payroll dates to the BBTC Fiscal Manager; 9. Perform duties as assigned by the BBTC Director;
Duties Include:
1. Attend clinical rotations with students 2. Maintain and evaluate clinical performance 3. Keep student informed of clinical performance 4. Supervise care provided by nursing students in contracted long-term care, acute care and community facilities 5. Assure clinical course objective are met 6. Prepare clinical assignments 7. Prepare clinical lab and simulation assignments 8. Performs other related duties accompanying the position Qualifications include: 1. B.S.N. or M.S.N,; 2. Experience of at least six years in the practice of nursing as a Registered Nurse. 2. Current license to practice professional nursing with an undisciplined license in the State of Florida 3. A minimum of two (2) years recent clinical experience; 4. Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities; 5. Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screenings
Required Work Hours:
Hours and assignments may vary as defined by need. Faculty schedules for classroom/lab/clinical instruction may consist of day and evening hours. Clinical site assignments are based on clinical site availability.
