Hunter Business School's Allied Health Division is expanding and has a full-time Clinical and Didactic teaching opportunity in our LPN program. Candidates should be registered nurses (RN) who demonstrate an expertise in nursing and in teaching nursing. As a member of HBS's Practical Nursing Program, the Faculty Instructor is responsible for the educational preparation of safe, compassionate, caring practical nurses, who are eligible to sit for the NY State Licensing Examinations (NCLEX-PN) following graduation. This instruction includes teaching and supervision of the adult learner and providing direct patient care to populations across the life span. The Faculty Instructor will support the overall goals of the Practical Nursing Program at Hunter Business School.
Responsibilities Classroom/Lab Instruction:
Teach classes for up to 24 students in multiple specialty subjects.
Clinical Instruction:
Oversee up to 10 students per clinical group, providing clinical supervision to students delivering direct patient care in a variety of clinical locations and situations. Evaluate student achievement of curriculum objectives/outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice
General:
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development and school activities Serve as academic adviser Qualifications Must be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program with a major in nursing or already have a Masters degree and have a NYS RN license. Minimum 3 years clinical practice within the past 5 years.
Previous teaching and administration experience in a nursing education program preferred but not required Effective personnel management and leadership skills Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication, decision making and critical thinking skills required Schedule Monday
