(S): Various locations within service area
HOURS:
Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed to fulfill the duties of the position (maximum 29 hours per week).
SALARY:
$35 per hour
FUNCTION OF THE JOB
The Clinical Adjunct Instructor-Practical Nursing is responsible for providing clinical instruction and supervision to Practical Nursing students during Mental Health/Psychiatric clinical rotations. Responsibilities include evaluating student performance, maintaining required records and documentation, collaborating with program faculty, and supporting the delivery and success of the Practical Nursing program. This part-time position is scheduled for two 11-hour clinical days per week, typically Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed to meet program requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide clinical instruction and supervision to Practical Nursing students during Mental Health/Psychiatric clinical rotations in accordance with program and clinical agency requirements. Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback to promote student success and clinical competency. Maintain accurate student records, evaluations, attendance, and required clinical documentation. Collaborate with the Practical Nursing Coordinator and course faculty to ensure consistency between classroom instruction and clinical learning experiences. Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and clinical agency personnel. Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment for traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds. Participate in departmental meetings and other instructional activities as requested. Maintain compliance with college, Tennessee Board of Nursing, and clinical agency policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee. Minimum of three (3) years of recent full-time clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years, including at least one (1) year of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing experience. Strong organizational, interpersonal, planning, oral, and written communication skills. Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience preferred.
