00 per hour (based on education, experience, certifications, and instructional performance) Position Summary The Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) Clinical Instructor is responsible for planning, supervising, instructing, mentoring, and evaluating Nurse Aide students during clinical education experiences. The instructor ensures all clinical instruction is delivered in accordance with: Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Nurse Aide Training Program requirements Federal and state regulations Perry & Associates Healthcare Education LLC

AAA Career Institute policies Clinical affiliate policies and procedures Accepted standards of nursing practice The Clinical Instructor serves as both educator and role model, promoting clinical excellence, professionalism, patient safety, ethical practice, and compassionate care while preparing students for successful entry into the healthcare workforce.

Essential Functions Clinical Instruction The instructor shall: Supervise all assigned NATCEP students during clinical rotations. Demonstrate proper NA skills before student performance. Ensure students perform only skills within the approved curriculum. Provide immediate coaching and corrective instruction. Monitor patient safety at all times. Reinforce infection prevention and standard precautions. Encourage critical thinking and professional communication. Maintain an effective student-to-instructor learning environment. Verify competency before allowing independent student performance. Student Supervision The instructor is responsible for: Monitoring attendance. Ensuring punctuality. Monitoring professional appearance. Enforcing dress code requirements. Verifying students maintain professional behavior. Monitoring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Addressing unsafe clinical performance immediately. Removing students from patient care when necessary for safety.

Student Evaluation The instructor shall:

Evaluate clinical competency. Complete skills validation checklists. Complete student performance evaluations. Identify learning deficiencies. Provide remediation recommendations. Document progress accurately. Submit documentation by required deadlines. Documentation Responsibilities Maintain accurate records including: Clinical attendance Daily sign-in sheets Competency checklists Skills evaluations Incident reports Student counseling documentation Clinical remediation plans End-of-clinical evaluations Documentation must be completed accurately, objectively, and submitted within established timelines.

Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with:

Texas HHS Nurse Aide Training Program regulations HIPAA Privacy Rule OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard Facility infection prevention policies Resident Rights Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation reporting requirements AAA Career Institute policies Clinical affiliation agreements Communication Responsibilities Maintain professional communication with: Director of Nursing Education Program Director Clinical Coordinator Clinical facility leadership Charge nurses Staff nurses Certified Nurse Aides Students Administrative staff Report immediately: Student injuries Patient injuries Medication or treatment errors Safety concerns Professional misconduct HIPAA violations Clinical incidents Professional Expectations Clinical instructors are expected to: Arrive at least 30 minutes before students. Maintain a professional appearance. Wear required identification. Demonstrate professional communication. Model ethical nursing behavior. Treat students with respect. Foster a positive learning environment. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Support student success through mentoring. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet all applicable Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Nurse Aide Training Program instructor requirements.

Required:

Current, unencumbered Texas Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience Minimum one (1) year providing care to older adults or chronically ill individuals in a long-term care or related healthcare setting Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification Ability to successfully pass required background screening Ability to meet all clinical facility onboarding requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills Basic computer proficiency Preferred Qualifications Previous NATCEP clinical instruction Nurse educator experience Staff development experience Experience serving as a clinical preceptor Skilled nursing experience Long-term care experience Rehabilitation experience Assisted living experience Experience using learning management systems Experience teaching adult learners
