Job Description
Company Overview The Five Towns Premier Rehabilitation and Nursing Center provides residents with personalized care within a culturally sensitive environment. Our facility specializes in long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, and sub-acute services, emphasizing quality and individualized treatment. Position Summary The Diet Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of resident diet orders, meal preferences, and meal service information by maintaining communication between Nursing, Speech-Language Pathology, Registered Dietitians, and the Food & Nutrition Services Department. This role manages resident information in Sigma and GeriMenu, assists with resident visits, updates dietary records, prepares meal tickets and labels, and supports safe, accurate nutrition services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review Sigma throughout the day for admissions, discharges, room changes, and resident status updates. Monitor department messages and update GeriMenu accordingly. Visit new admissions and residents to obtain and update food preferences. Print meal tallies, tray tickets, snack labels, and shake labels as needed. Respond to meal callbacks and communicate changes to dietary staff. Ensure all new admissions are entered into GeriMenu and receive meal tickets. Organize tray tickets for meal service. Collaborate with Nursing, Registered Dietitians, Speech, and Food Service staff. Qualifications Associate degree in Nutrition, Dietetic Technology, or related field preferred. Experience in long-term care or healthcare food service preferred. Knowledge of therapeutic diets and electronic systems such as Sigma and GeriMenu. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills. Reports To Director of Food & Nutrition Services.
