Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students near Lake in the Hills, IL! This flexible, part-time role (15 hours per week) is ideal for skilled occupational therapists (OT) and certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) who are passionate about creating a positive impact in school environments. As a valued OT or COTA, you'll have the chance to develop tailored intervention strategies and collaborate with dedicated educators and families. Working with students from diverse backgrounds and grade levels, you'll play a key role in fostering independence and success both in and out of the classroom.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Illinois licensure as an OT or COTA, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date Experience or training in a school-based setting is highly desirable Strong communication and teamwork skills to partner effectively with teachers, parents, and school support staff Understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and relevant school documentation Comfortable working with a varied caseload across K-12 students
Key Responsibilities:
Create and implement evidence-based OT intervention plans targeting students' learning, self-care, and adaptive skills Conduct assessments and effectively document findings to contribute to IEP team decisions Provide direct and consultative services, adapting approaches for diverse student needs Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Maintain thorough documentation of all interventions and progress
