Occupational Therapist School Setting in Mundelein, IL

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in grades 3-5 within an intermediate school building. Beginning September 8, 2026, and extending through June 16, 2027, this position is ideal for an Occupational Therapist seeking a flexible schedule, offering 2 to 3 days a week (choose either two full days or spread out the hours across more days with shorter shifts). Working hours are 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while making a meaningful impact.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois Previous experience delivering OT services in a school setting, especially with children in grades 3-5 Solid background in consultative models, fine motor skill development, and sensory integration strategies Strong collaboration skills for partnering with educators, parents, and support staff Comfortable managing a consult-heavy caseload with some direct therapy Compassionate communicator who is student-centered and flexible
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy support primarily on a consultative basis, with select students receiving direct fine motor and sensory services Work closely with a caseload of approximately 25 students in one school building Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to support student needs Maintain clear documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as needed Foster an inclusive, supportive environment to help students thrive academically and socially This position offers a chance to focus on meaningful, targeted support in a collaborative school community.
