Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist serving K-12 students with diverse abilities in the vibrant community near Dowagiac, MI. This school-based role starts August 24, 2026, and offers steady, full-time hours—36.25 per week, from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM daily. Assignments are finalized each year, and travel throughout Berrien County will be required as many professionals serve multiple school locations. You'll work with a caseload of approximately 55-65 students, providing services for those with autism, cognitive and emotional impairments, learning disabilities, and other health impairments. What we're seeking: Valid Occupational Therapist licensure for Michigan School-based OT experience preferred (K-12) Knowledge of special education processes, IEP implementation, and progress monitoring Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families Compassion and adaptability in supporting diverse student needs Willingness to travel between schools within Berrien County Commitment to professional conduct, confidentiality, and fostering inclusive environments Key responsibilities: Assess and deliver occupational therapy services for students with various disabilities Participate actively in multidisciplinary teams and the development of IEPs Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, progress, and regulatory compliance Consult with educators and caregivers to optimize students' performance and independence Adapt therapeutic strategies and tools to support learning in both individual and group formats Manage and prioritize a dynamic caseload, adjusting as assigned throughout the year This position allows you to make a tangible difference while working alongside passionate educators and therapists.
