Qualifications and Experience:
Current licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in New York State Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Previous experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations is highly desirable Strong collaboration skills to thrive as part of a multidisciplinary educational team Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and goal setting for students with diverse needs Excellent communication skills with students, families, and school staff
Role Responsibilities:
Assess students' fine motor, sensory, perceptual, and self-care skills to identify needs Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in alignment with students' educational goals Work closely with special education teachers, aides, and other professionals to deliver holistic support Provide therapeutic interventions both in individual and group settings, adapting activities to suit varying abilities Participate in IEP meetings and deliver comprehensive progress reports Educate staff and caregivers on best practices to foster independence and functional development Maintain detailed and timely documentation of services and progress
