Full Job Description Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Qualifications for
Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist Required:
Direct service experience with clients who have mental illness. AA + 6 years related experience, OR BA in psychology/social work or related field + 4 years experience, OR MA in psychology/social work or related field + 2 years experience.
Paid Two-Week Training and Onboarding Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
•Time subject to change Extensive paid training will be provided, requiring candidates to be fully available for the entire two-week training period, which will be conducted in person. This training will cover essential youth care worker duties, PRO-ACT, Naloxone (NARCAN) training, and crises response to ensure you are well-equipped to deliver high-quality care.
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist to work with youth ages 12 to 18 in our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). This role involves direct service delivery to clients with mental illness in a structured, trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individual and group rehabilitation sessions focused on improving functional and interpersonal skills. Provide one-on-one behavioral coaching, modeling coping strategies, and reinforcing positive behaviors. Develop and implement individualized service plans. Implement behavioral interventions and safety protocols as needed. Collaborate with therapists, families, and treatment teams. Complete daily documentation and maintain productivity standards. Experience Requirements:
Direct service experience with clients who have mental illness AA + 6 years related experience, OR BA in psychology/social work or related field + 4 years experience, OR MA in psychology/social work or related field + 2 years experience.
Additional Requirements:
A working knowledge of conducting individual and group rehabilitation sessions for those with a history of mental illness and their families. Strong understanding of mental health counseling principles and practices. Familiarity with Medi-Cal documentation and recovery-oriented services. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work full-time and participate in on-call rotation Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record to Agency's insurance carrier Must be 21+ years old Pass background checks ( DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Index clearance) required Current CPR/First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain upon hire) Must complete Pro-ACT certification within 30 days of hire
Preferred:
