Responsibilities:
Provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Examines patient's medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops and implements treatment plans. Evaluates patients and helps them improve basic motor functions and reasoning abilities, but also compensate for permanent loss of function by teaching them to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. These patients may have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling. May also assist patients in selecting appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. Integrates the hospital's mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice.
Requirements:
Current and valid licensure as a PT, PTA, OT, COTA, or SLP required. Basic Life Support/CPR Certification from an approved vendor required. One year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred. Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
