Responsibilities:

Observes and assists Therapists with patient care throughout treatment program. Assists Therapists in use and care of machinery and equipment. Assists for safety purpose with transfers, transport, treatment preparation, and ambulation of patients under direct supervision of Rehabilitation Therapists (OT, PT, Speech). Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly working area. Maintains state of the art knowledge of discipline specific skills, techniques, and job-related duties and responsibilities. Attends continuing education courses, workshops, and seminars ae required. •Will be working with Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists so preference is for students looking to enter these fields•

Schedule:

Primarily rotating weekends and as needed during the week and over breaks/holidays. Typical shifts include weekends from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM or 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, and weekdays between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM, with shifts ranging from 3 to 8 hours. High school diploma, GED equivalent, or current high school senior and 18 years of age required. Acceptance/attendance at a post-secondary educational institution in a health related/science field required. PT, OT, Speech, or Rehab field preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

BLS certification or achievement within thirty (30) days of employment required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
