Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities. This role is essential in providing quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and geriatric care environments. Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists. Support patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities designed to enhance their physical and cognitive abilities. Utilize medical imaging and terminology effectively to communicate patient needs and progress. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, safety precautions, and home exercises. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology while assisting with patient assessments. Provide support in outpatient settings as well as skilled nursing facilities, focusing on geriatrics when necessary. Experience Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in occupational health or geriatrics, is preferred. Familiarity with care plans, medical imaging, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and assisting techniques is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
