Job Description
Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract role supporting elementary students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a maternity leave coverage assignment. This opportunity involves working onsite 3-4 days a week, with a schedule ranging from 21-28 hours weekly, from August 17 (or as soon as possible) through September 28. You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to students, prioritizing both access and inclusion within self-contained autism programs. Bring your expertise and compassion into a collaborative school environment, working closely with special education staff and classroom teams to develop students' functional independence and participation aligned with their IEP goals. Each day, you'll help ensure students thrive, empowering them to reach important milestones in a supportive and engaging setting.
Ideal Background & Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Certified by, or eligible for certification from, the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association Holds or is eligible for a State of Illinois Occupational Therapist License Previous pediatric or school-based experience is preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to fostering student growth and inclusion
