Overview Ophthalmic Technician- you will work directly with patients concerning eye health and vision care. You will assist the optometrist with patient examinations, operate specialized diagnostic equipment, and ensure a smooth clinical workflow. You will be required to test and document accurately in patient medical records. Responsibilities Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) and slit-lamp biomicroscopes with precision. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems by documenting patient information accurately and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Support patient care through compassionate communication, explaining testing clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout the examination process. Helpful Experience (but willing to train) Strong knowledge of ophthalmology practices, including ophthalmic patient examinations and diagnostic testing procedures. Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to eye health and clinical documentation. Experience operating medical equipment such as tonometers, and ophthalmic imaging tools. Familiarity with EMR/EHR management systems for accurate record keeping and data entry. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA policies and clinical confidentiality standards. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care, empathy, and clear communication. Basic understanding of anatomy related to the eye and physiology principles relevant to ophthalmic diagnostics. Understanding insurance coding. Technical skills combined with compassionate patient care is the perfect combination!

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 35.0 per week
