Overview Arizona Oculoplastic Specialists, a premier cosmetic and reconstructive facial and eye plastic surgery practice in Scottsdale, is in search of a full-time Medical Assistant. There is an expansive state-of-art clinic and med-spa offering an unrivaled experience for patients seeking specialized care. We are looking for a team player for a medical assistant position to work closely with our surgeon. Required to have at least 2+ years of experience. Candidates with work experience in the fields of ophthalmology, dermatology or plastic surgery are strongly preferred. The salary is competitive based on experience. Responsibilities Working up patients on clinic days, sterilization of instruments, and assisting in surgery 1-2 days in the week. The candidate must be able to multi-task and perform front office duties such as appointment scheduling, authorizations and booking surgery. Must be proficient in modern computer office applications. Manage electronic health records (EHR) by accurately documenting patient information, clinical notes, and diagnostic results in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support intake procedures by collecting patient data, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records. Perform routine clinical tasks including maintaining patient confidentiality, adhering to clinical confidentiality policies, and ensuring a sterile environment during procedures. Provide direct patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience during clinic visits. Collaborate with team members to optimize clinic workflows and enhance patient service delivery. Qualifications Prior experience working in an ophthalmology, oculoplastics office setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical coding practices related to ophthalmology. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to operate specialized ophthalmic diagnostic equipment accurately and safely. Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing compassionate patient service and education. Basic knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and physiology relevant to ophthalmology examinations. Experience in medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and aseptic technique is essential.
