Ophthalmology Technician (COA Preferred) Bilingual Spanish

Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ophthalmology Technician to join our well-established ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced medical office setting. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is required.
Key Qualifications:
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred Minimum of 2 years of ophthalmology technician experience Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) Experience with ophthalmic testing and diagnostic equipment Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a clinical environment
Responsibilities:
Perform preliminary eye examinations, including visual acuity, tonometry, refraction, and imaging Assist ophthalmologists during patient exams and minor procedures Obtain and document patient histories accurately in the electronic medical record Prepare examination rooms and maintain ophthalmic equipment Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care Ensure compliance with clinical and safety protocols
