Pay:

[$17- $25/hour, depending on experience] About the Position We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and motivated Optometric Assistant / Optician to join our growing eye care team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing excellent patient care, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position will assist with both patient care and optical services , providing patients with a welcoming experience from check-in through the completion of their eyewear needs. Responsibilities Welcome and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner Assist with pre-testing and diagnostic procedures as directed by the optometrist Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories Perform preliminary testing such as visual acuity, autorefraction, tonometry, and other testing as trained Assist the optometrist during patient examinations Review prescriptions and assist patients with frame selection Take accurate measurements, including pupillary distance and segment height Educate patients about lens options, coatings, and eyewear products Assist with dispensing, adjusting, and repairing eyeglasses Verify orders and ensure eyewear meets prescription and quality standards Coordinate contact lens orders and assist patients with insertion/removal training as needed Schedule appointments and assist with phone calls and patient inquiries Maintain accurate patient records and follow office procedures Process payments and assist with insurance verification and optical benefits Keep examination rooms and optical areas clean, organized, and well stocked Provide exceptional customer service and maintain patient confidentiality Perform other duties as needed to support the practice Qualifications Previous experience in an optometric, ophthalmology, optical, or medical office preferred Optical/optician experience is a plus Strong customer service and communication skills Professional, friendly, and patient-focused attitude Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team Comfortable learning new technology, equipment, and office systems Reliable, punctual, and dependable Ability to work in a fast-paced environment What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Employee eyewear/optical benefits Training and opportunities for professional growth Supportive and team-oriented work environment How to Apply If you are enthusiastic about eye care and enjoy helping patients look and see their best, we would love to hear from you.
