Job Description

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with ophthalmologists and optometrists to deliver exceptional patient care, support diagnostic procedures, and ensure a smooth clinical workflow. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and benefits .
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive preliminary eye exams, including patient history intake, visual acuity measurement, and intraocular pressure checks. Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry , visual field testing , OCT imaging , and retinal photography . Prepare patients for examinations, in-office procedures, and minor surgeries; assist physicians as needed. Educate patients on eye health , contact lens care , pre/post-operative instructions, and medication use. Accurately document patient information and test results in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Maintain exam rooms and equipment according to aseptic technique and infection control standards . Support front office and administrative duties including appointment scheduling coordination and occasional assistance with medical billing and coding . Ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient experience throughout the visit.
Qualifications:
Previous ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred . Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, terminology, and ocular anatomy. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment (e.g., autorefractor, visual field analyzer, OCT). Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (NextGen a plus). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols accurately. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to providing professional, compassionate patient care.
