Ophthalmic Technician Coastal Cataract and Glaucoma Vista, CA Job Details Part-time $20 - $28 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Professional development assistance Qualifications Spanish Teamwork HIPAA English Clinic experience Full Job Description Job Overview Join the founding clinical team at Coastal Cataract & Glaucoma, a new independent ophthalmology practice that opened July 27, 2026 in Vista, CA. Led by Dr. Steven Fish, MD — a fellowship-trained surgical glaucoma and cataract specialist — CCG is bringing subspecialty eye care to North County San Diego patients who have historically had to travel for advanced glaucoma surgery and complex cataract care. As our Ophthalmic Technician, you will work directly alongside Dr. Fish to deliver high-quality, compassionate care from day one. This part-time role (2-3 days/week) is designed to grow with the practice, with a clear path to full-time within the first year. Duties Conduct patient intake by gathering ophthalmic and medical history, reconciling medications, and documenting findings in Nextech EMR Perform pretesting including visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurement, confrontation visual fields, and pupil testing Perform diagnostic imaging including OCT, fundus photography, visual fields, and corneal topography Assist Dr. Fish during patient examinations, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort throughout Educate patients on diagnoses, medication instructions, and follow-up care in accordance with HIPAA requirements; bilingual English/Spanish communication is a plus Experience Prior experience in an ophthalmology clinical setting strongly preferred Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and terminology Experience with Nextech EMR or similar platforms; Nextech experience a significant plus COA, COT, or CPOT certification preferred, or willingness to obtain Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus given our patient population Ability to thrive in a small, collaborative, fast-paced environment where every team member contributes to the patient experience Join us as an Ophthalmic Technician and be part of a passionate team committed to transforming vision health through expert care, innovative technology, and compassionate service. Pay:
