Job Description

Optometric Technician - Training Provided! Old Towne Optometry Yorba Linda, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18.50 - $20.00 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Hospitality No experience needed Attention to detail Full Job Description Ophthalmic / Optometric Technician - No Experience Required Old Towne Optometry is looking for the right person to join our team! We are a small, close-knit optometry office, and for us, hiring is a little different. We are much more interested in finding someone with the right personality, attitude, and work ethic than someone who already knows how to do every part of the job.

•No previous optometry, ophthalmology, or medical experience is required. We are happy to train you.

•We can teach you how to use our equipment, perform testing, and work alongside our doctors. What we can't teach nearly as easily is how to be warm, dependable, genuinely enjoy helping people, and be a great teammate. Those are the things we care about most. Our goal is to give every patient who walks through our doors an experience that feels different from the typical doctor's office. We want people to feel welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of from the moment they arrive. We also believe work should be enjoyable. We are a small team, everyone helps each other out, and we like to have fun while still taking excellent patient care seriously. Because we spend a lot of time together, finding someone who fits well with the team is extremely important to us. You Might Be a Great Fit If You... Genuinely enjoy talking with and helping people Are naturally friendly, upbeat, and personable Show up on time and can be counted on Pay attention to the little details Learn quickly and aren't afraid to ask questions Like staying busy and having a variety of things to do Are willing to jump in and help your teammates when needed Take pride in doing things well Want to learn new skills and grow into your role You do not need to come to us knowing anything about eyes. Previous experience in optometry, ophthalmology, healthcare, hospitality, or customer service is definitely a plus, but it is not a requirement. Some of the qualities we value most often come from jobs that have nothing to do with healthcare. What You'll Be Doing As an Ophthalmic Technician, you'll work closely with our doctors and help guide patients through their visits. We will train you to do things like: Welcome patients and get them ready for their eye exam Review medical and vision histories Perform vision testing and pretesting Operate advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment Assist our doctors with testing, procedures, and patient care Explain testing and help patients understand what to expect Keep exam rooms and clinical areas organized Help with scheduling and insurance authorizations when needed Pitch in with other areas of the office when the team needs help Because we are a smaller office, you won't be stuck doing one repetitive task all day. There is always something new to learn, and if you are someone who takes initiative and wants to grow, there will be plenty of opportunities to expand your role over time. Experience None required. Really. If you already have experience in optometry or ophthalmology, that's great and we'd love to hear from you. If you don't, but you're great with people, dependable, eager to learn, and think you'd fit well with our team, we absolutely want to hear from you too. We would much rather hire the right person and teach them the job than hire someone with years of experience who isn't the right fit for our office. Compensation Pay will depend on previous experience and the amount of training required. If you're looking for a job where you can learn something new, work closely with a good group of people, and actually get to know the patients you're taking care of, we'd love to meet you. We look forward to hearing from you! — The Doctors & Staff at
