Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will assist in conducting ophthalmic patient examinations, operate specialized diagnostic equipment, and support the clinical team in delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help ensure accurate assessments and a smooth patient experience from intake through follow-up. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems with accurate information. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to assist in comprehensive eye assessments. Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment including A-scan biometry and tonometry devices to gather precise ocular measurements. Conduct ophthalmic examinations like eye refraction, visual acuity tests, and intraocular pressure checks while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Apply aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety and prevent infection. Assist with maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Support front desk operations by managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance information, and processing medical records efficiently. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is highly preferred. Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for managing electronic health records. Experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment like A-scan biometry devices and tonometers. Strong patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care, including pediatric patients when necessary. Understanding of medical billing and coding practices related to ophthalmic services is a plus. Retail or optical experience combined with clinic experience will be considered an asset for this role. Pay:
$16.00 - $26.00 per hour
