We are a busy, patient-focused optometry practice and are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is willing to learn, and is comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities. Previous optometry or medical office experience is helpful, but not required. We are happy to train the right person! Primary Responsibilities This position will be cross-trained in both front desk and technician duties, including: Front Desk Greet and check in patients Schedule appointments and manage the patient schedule Answer phones and assist patients with questions Check patients out and collect payments Gather and verify patient and insurance information Scan, fax, and manage patient documents Help keep the front office organized and running smoothly Optometric Technician Prepare patients for their examination Obtain patient medical and ocular history Perform preliminary vision testing Use diagnostic equipment and testing instruments Enter accurate information into the electronic medical record Prepare exam rooms and equipment Assist the doctors and other team members as needed The ideal candidate is someone who: Is friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with patients Is dependable and punctual Has strong communication and customer service skills Is organized and able to multitask Is comfortable learning new technology and equipment Pays attention to detail Is willing to learn and receive feedback Enjoys being part of a team and is willing to help wherever needed Experience in optometry, healthcare, or a medical office is a plus, but it is not required. We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
