Job Description
Job Overview The Optometric Technician supports eye care providers by assisting with patient examinations, performing preliminary testing, and ensuring a high-quality patient experience. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication in a fast-paced environment. Duties Prepare patients for examinations and assisting the doctor when needed Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories Perform preliminary eye testing, including: visual acuity testing, autorefraction, tonometry, visual field testing, Optos imaging and OCT imaging Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the provider Accurately document findings in the electronical medical record Perform telephone triage for patients Maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stacking of supplies Provide compassionate, professional care to patients of all ages Assist with patient flow to minimize wait times Requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multitask in a clinical setting Computer skills Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time This position requires working 4 days per week, plus 1 Saturday per month. Hours Monday 8:00 AM
