Job Description
Full-Service Optical Laboratory | Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Optical Lab Technician to join our full-service optical laboratory. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with finishing equipment and is committed to producing high-quality eyewear with precision and efficiency. This role supports our clients by ensuring every pair of glasses meets prescription and quality standards both in optically and cosmetic. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain the Manual Edging system, including edging, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. Fabricate and finish lenses for a wide range of frame styles, including metal, acetate, rimless designs. Utilize additional lab equipment such as lens blockers, lensometers, and hand tools. Verify prescription cosmetic's accuracy and ensure all eyewear meets ANSI and internal quality standards. Perform routine equipment maintenance and report service needs promptly. Manage daily job flow to meet production timelines and support Laboratory operations. Follow all lab safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality standards. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with a Manual edging system or willingness to complete training. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and time management. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read and interpret optical prescriptions accurately. Experience in an optical lab or similar technical environment preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with precision equipment. Having worked with Santinelli, Briot, Optronics, etc. would be a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Manual dexterity for handling small components. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed. Preferred Skills Experience with CNC fabrication. Knowledge of lens materials, coatings, and optical standards #1698KY
